Neighborhood Groups

DC SUN is made up of a network of neighborhood solar groups. These groups host meetings, organize events, and help neighbors go solar. There are neighborhood solar groups in all 8 wards of DC!

Ward 8 neighbors Darlene Williams and Monyna Dorsey live next door to each other and went solar together in 2012.

Just want to go solar? Check out our how to go solar resources to learn about how to do a project.

Don’t see a group in your area? You can start one! Check out our guide to starting a neighborhood solar group. DC SUN depends on community members who are willing to step up and build groups in their neighborhoods. Leaders do not need any experience with solar energy; we have a DC SUN Volunteer Handbook that gives you all the information you need to get started. The strength and vitality of DC SUN depends on everyone stepping up to make solar happen!
